Thanksgiving

One year ago today, Bria and Mommy and Daddy were celebrating their first Thanksgiving together -- in the hospital. This one was a little different! The weather was terrible, so the guest list was a little shorter than expected, but it was still a big (busy) day, with a house full of family to hang out with. Bria loved the turkey and pumpkin pie, and got tons and tons of snuggles. She also slept until 11:30 and had to be woken up to greet company!

Thanksgiving / Christmas

My big brother and sisters are going to be in Arizona for Christmas this year, so we had one big combined holiday on Thanksgiving. Gramma and Grandpa, Uncle Justin, Uncle Jonathan, and Aunt Cindy joined us for the holiday. We had a big turkey dinner, opened presents, and played lots and lots of Wii games! I got to get in on the Wii Band Hero fun because I got a guitar for Christmas from Gramma and Grandpa!

They say it's your birthday!!!!

Wow, one year old!!!! On one hand, it seems like she couldn't possibly be a year old already, but on the other hand -- wow, those pictures of her from one year ago seem like an eternity ago! She has grown and changed so much in this year (as babies will), and we are so excited to celebrate her first birthday.

Bria will be celebrating with her friends and family with a party on Saturday. Tonight she celebrated at her friend Denli's birthday party -- so she's going to be an expert by the time her party comes around! Denli was born the day before Bria, so they'll always get to party together!

One year photos

Bria spent the morning with Megan from Megan Wold Photography today, having her one year photos taken. (We also did family photos, which were a lot of fun!) We love Megan's work, and are so excited to share the photos with everyone!

Big kisses

Awww! Bria's favorite thing to do today is take out her pacifier and give big, sloppy kisses. It puts a big smile on her face AND Mom's!

Cough

Boo, Bria is getting a nasty cough. Not a great day to be a cute baby girl!

Check it out! My Gran makes the best baby socks ever (they were the only thing that would stay on my feet for a long long time!), and everyone can get some for themselves!

Theater day

Today was a big day! I got to see my big brother and sisters perform in the Missoula Children's Theater production of the Princess and the Pea.

Then in the evening, I hung out with my Mom and Dad and watched Little Shop of Horrors. I loved it! Music is my favorite thing ever!

Cleaning up

Bria was cleaning up the toys this afternoon, picking them up and putting them into her toy box. One of the daycare kids took one out, and she yelled at him! She was not impressed!

Play date

Bria had her first play date with her friends Karli and Piper today. She had so much fun! She came home saying "Piper, Piper, Piper."

Jhordyne got her hands on my hair! She wanted to try out something she saw on Curly Hairdo Ideas, but Bria's hair was a bit short. So she got these pigtails.

Wee tiny baby

Bria was at the health unit to get weighed and measured Tuesday, and she's being encouraged to eat, eat, eat! She weighed in at 15 pounds, 4 ounces (6.9 kilos), and measured 26" (66.04 centimetres). Her height to weight ratio has dropped a bit over time and is now at about 26th percentile, which means they would like to see her chunk up just a bit! They also tested her blood for anemia, and her iron levels were 11.5 (10.9 would be a concern at her age).

She doesn't care to drink from a sippy cup or bottle (she chews on them rather than sucking), but is still nursing, and we are going to start encouraging her to have some whole milk with meals to see if that helps a bit. She HAS been growing a bit lately (we've noticed she is outgrowing clothes!), so hopefully it's just that they caught her mid-growth spurt!
